As people arrived we greeted them so they could meet both sides of our newly extended family. Maj Britts tried hard to keep track of the aunts, uncles and cousins.
Vi var linet op for at tage imod alle gæsterne. Maj Britt koncentrerede sig meget for at holde styr på alle Duncans mange onkler, tanter, kusiner og fætre.

Duncan built this bridge over the pool with local bamboo so that everyone could easily see what was happening.
Ceremonien skulle fregå på broen, så alle gæsterne kunne følge med fra kanten af poolen.

When we were ready Ian Hill, the days piper, lead us on a short parade around the garden to the pool. Ian Hill taught Duncan the bagpipes for many years in the Pipes and Drums of the Signals Assoc.

We were already married so Father Arahil gave us a blessing and we repeated our vows.

After James and Father Arahil had welcomed our guests, James read from 1 Corinthians 13. James and Cameron shared mc duties, it was great to have them both involved.

We decided to have two rituals, one was lighting a candle with flames passed to us by our families. Lighting the candle gives us something we can do each year to remind us of what we mean to each other.
Som en del af ceremonien tændte vi et lys sammen med hver sin flamme, som vi havde fået overrakt af hver vores familier. Father Arahil sagde at vi skal tænde lyset hvert år på vores bryllupsdag, og læse teksten fra Bibelen igen.

We had grand plans of making our own rings, but on the day we used some greenstone rings.
Vi har planer om at lave vores egne ringe, og til denne lejlighed udveksler vi nogle greenstone ringe.
