"They both moved to Gisbourne. Fiona remembers clearly making friends with their Chinese gardner who lived in a shed on the property. The fine bone china Chinese teaset is a present he brought back after they (Haidee?) sponsored a trip home to China. The Gisbourne house burnt down, apparently because a servant left a candle burning. Fiona understands that if it wasn't for the house burning down and the need for moving and finding new accomodation, James and Haidee may have stayed together."
