Narrative

After a bit of online research I can say that the car is a Trojan. They were popular in New Zealand because they were easy to maintain and were sturdy. It's unclear who these people are or where the picture was taken, so I spoke with grumpa about it. He says that his father, Robert (Stevenson) Lithgow had access to a number of Trojan cars and trucks in connection with the masonry firm. He also said that that his sister, Annie Stevenson Lithgow, learnt to drive in a Trojan.
Robert also had a bach, so it is possible that this picture includes my Auntie Anne (Annie S. Lithgow). She may even be the driver. Who the rest are will probably remain a mystery.

Written on the back (a scan of which should be beside this file) is :

"Do you like our Rolls Royce & our driver. The car is a Trojan & the house at the back is our bach. We had eleven in the car one day"

Email 9 april 2007 from Michael Pickard:
"The car question was really about the people who were in it, we presume they are from New Zealand as the photo, with others were in a New Zealand folder at Dad's."
